What is Foodie Registry?
Foodie Registry is a totally unique and fee-free online store and gift registry for upscale restaurant gift certificates.
Are there any fees involved with this service?
Foodie Registry is completely fee-free. You don't even pay for shipping. If you buy a $100 gift certificate, you pay $100. No tax, no shipping and no fees.
Do Foodie Registry gift certificates expire?
No – Foodie Registry gift certificates have no expiration date.
Do they have any other terms?
Terms will be shown on the restaurant’s profile page on our site, but for the most part the only terms are “Not applicable toward tax or gratuity. No cash refund.”
How will my gift certificate be shipped?
All orders ship first-class mail via the US Postal Service.
Can I track my order?
Since we ship via normal first-class mail, no. However we let you know when it ships and also send a follow up 10 days later to the recipient to make sure it was received.
Is this secure?
Absolutely, Foodie Registry is a fully secure website and encrypts all sensitive information using full 256-bit secure-socket layer encryption. Additionally, Foodie Registry does not store any credit card information. It is used one time to process the transaction via secure payment gateway. Once the transaction is processed there is no record of anyone’s credit card on our servers.
Can I purchase “non-registry” gift certificates on Foodie Registry?
Yes. Instead of looking for a registry just search for restaurants directly using the “Find Restaurants” link in the footer. When you find one you like, click through to the restaurant’s profile page and click the “Buy Gift Certificate Now” button to purchase. Please keep in mind if this IS for someone’s registry then purchasing this way will not account for the purchase on the registry and they may get more in gift certificates from that restaurant than they desired. Always go through the registry if it’s for someone registered at Foodie Registry.
Can I purchase less than the full amount requested to a restaurant?
Absolutely. The amount displayed is the total amount requested by the registrants, but you can purchase any amount up to and above that amount as long as the amount hasn’t already been fulfilled (in which case you’ll see the “Purchase Gift Certificate” button go gray). Amounts must be in whole dollars and there is a $25 minimum purchase.
Can I send a gift certificate directly to the registrant(s)?
Yes. All registrants are required to enter a shipping address in case their friends/family want to ship directly to them. When you purchase a gift certificate from their registry you will see the option to have your gift sent either directly to the registrant(s) or to another address of your choosing.
How do I purchase more than one certificate?
Foodie Registry does not currently use a “shopping cart.” To purchase more than one gift certificate they much be purchased individually.
Will I be able to send the registrant(s) a message with their gift certificate?
Yes, although it’s not required. When you enter in your order details you’ll see an optional field where you can enter a kind message to the recipients of your gift.
How do I get a receipt for my purchase?
Once your gift has been purchased you will be taken to an order confirmation page that can be printed for your records. Additionally, you will receive a confirmation email with the same information, including an order number.
What are the note and 'who is this for/from' fields used for when checking out?
These optional fields let us know whose name(s) to put on the gift certificate and let you include an optional brief note. Say hi and tell them bon appétit!
What do Foodie Registry gift certificates look like?
They come custom printed on a nice thick card stock and are sealed in an attractive gift envelope. See below for a picture of what the cards look like.
Can I just print a PDF of my gift certificate from my computer so I can give it today?
We don't currently offer e-certificates, but if you need an order expedited please call 877-534-5244 and we'd be happy to help!
