What is Foodie Registry and how does it work?

Foodie Registry is a unique online store and gift registry for upscale restaurant gift certificates. Set up is simple: all you need to do is create an online registry, choose any number of fabulous restaurants you’d like to dine at, and send it out to your friends and family. There are no fees for you at all, and none for your friends/family besides the cost of the gift certificate. Just a few clicks and you’ll be enjoying “the gift of good tastes” in no time.

Do Foodie Registry gift certificates expire?

No – Foodie Registry gift certificates have no expiration date.

Do they have any other terms?

Terms will be shown on the restaurant’s profile page on our site, but for the most part the only terms are “Not applicable toward tax or gratuity. No cash refund.”

Are there any password requirements?

Passwords must be at least 6 characters.

Are there any fees involved with this service?

This service is TOTALLY FREE for registrants. If you register for a $100 restaurant gift card then $100 dollars is what your guests will pay for the gift certificate should they choose to buy it, and a $100 gift certificate is what you will receive.

What is metro area used for?

All registries are associated with a metro area to help guests locate your registry.

How do I/we know how much to ask for from each restaurant?

The amount is up to you, subject to a $25 minimum. Keep in mind however that Foodie Registry works only with upscale restaurants that provide a premium dining experience so a complete dinner for two, including wine, can definitely get above $100, in some cases well beyond. We encourage you to research the restaurants you are considering registering for, both on our site and others.

Will my guests see the amount I request from each restaurant?

Yes, guests will see both the amount you initially request from each restaurant and also how much has been purchased already. Once your desired amount has been fulfilled guests will still be able to see the restaurant listing, however, it will be grayed out and they will not be able to purchase more from that restaurant. You will be notified via email when an individual restaurant registry amount has been fulfilled and will be given the option to add more to that restaurant or select a new one.

How can I tell which gifts have been purchased?

You can view your registry, and the status of gift purchases, at any time by simply looking it up on the site.

Do my guests have to purchase the full amount I register for?

No. The amount you select for an individual restaurant is the maximum amount you request. Guests may purchase any portion of that amount for you. and may even purchase more than the requested amount. Foodie Registry will only indicate a restaurant gift has been “bought” and prevent further purchases for it once the requested amount is met or exceeded. Here is an example. You register for $100 to a restaurant downtown that you’ve been dying to try. One friend buys you a $50 gift certificate to it. Your registry will now display $100 as the amount requested and $50 as the amount received. A second friend then buys you a $75 gift certificate to the restaurant through your registry. Foodie Registry will not prevent them from placing this purchase even though you only requested $50 more than has already been purchased, but after completion, we will “gray out” the listing on your registry to indicate your requested amount has been met or exceeded. At this point we will prevent further guests from purchasing more gift certificates to that restaurant unless you add more to your requested amount to reactivate the listing.

How will the gift certificate be shipped and when will it be delivered?

All orders ship first-class mail via USPS and should arrive to wherever the purchasers specifies in the order within 7 business days of purchase.

How do I change my profile?

You may change, update or add to your profile at any time by logging into your personal registry site and selecting the ‘edit account’ link.

Can I schedule restaurant reservations through your website?

As of right now you cannot schedule restaurant reservations through our site.

How do I add more restaurants to my list?

You may change, update or add to your profile at any time by logging into your personal registry site and selecting the ‘add additional restaurants’ link.

Do you sell my information or my guests' information?

Absolutely not, all personal information is used by Foodie Registry only so we can ensure you receive your gift. Additionally, Foodie Registry does not store any credit card information. It is used one time to process the transaction via secure payment gateway. Once the transaction is processed there is no record of anyone’s credit card on our servers.

I’m having trouble uploading my picture…

The max file size we accept is 5 MB, most picture problems occur because of file sizes too large. The easiest way to fix this is simply shrinking your picture to a size below 5 MB, saving again, and uploading that. Alternatively, feel free to send it to support@foodieregistry.com along with the issue you’re seeing and the name(s) on the registry and we’ll be happy to help.

Where will my photo be displayed?

Your picture will be displayed at the top of your registry along with your names and, if you choose to enter one, your greeting.

How long after my event date will my registry be available?

Registries on Foodie Registry will remain available for 24 months after the event date you enter. You can also expire your registry early or extend it beyond the 24 month life by emailing support@foodieregistry.com.

Why do you need my address?

We need your address because your guests have the option of shipping gift certificates directly to you (if they can’t make it to your event, for example).

How is my message to my guests used?

This is an optional greeting to your friends and family who come to your registry and will appear at the top by your names and picture. There is no limit to how big your message can be but we recommend a short note telling them why you picked Foodie Registry and how excited you are to celebrate with them at your upcoming wedding. Please note you'll also have a chance to add a comment by each restaurant you add to your registry.

Can I delete or hide my registry?

Yes, you can hide your registry, which will prevent it from appearing in registry searches and any incoming links to your registry will be redirected to a "Registry Not Found" page. We will automatically hide your registry 15 months after the wedding date on wedding registries. You'll be notified by email at that time and if you don't want it hidden you can simply log in and unhide it at that time. If you want your registry completely deleted please email support@foodieregistry.com.

What do Foodie Registry gift certificates look like?

They come custom printed on a nice thick card stock and are sealed in an attractive gift envelope. See below for a picture of what the cards look like.
